Full disclosure, I received this free of charge. Having said that, these are quite a bit nicer than I expected. They’re very solid and tightly woven, with a very nice heft to them. There’s little danger of them coming unraveled or unwoven, and they look like they can take a lot of abuse. They look great on my dark wood dining table. I would not hesitate to buy more if I needed them.

I’m using these placemats as hot pads i.e. trivets. They hold up great to heat… I take the pots straight from gas burner to mat with no worries (my solid surface countertops and wood top island have suffered no damage doing it this way). They are large enough to fit under all my pots and pans; I put them side by side for my longer rectangular baking dishes. Since this is listed as a natural material and handwoven, color/weaving variation would not be unusual but mine are actually pretty uniform. They appear to be well made (no visible imperfections) and look great… so much so that I lean them against my backsplash for easy access rather than in the cabinet with my other metal hot pads/racks. Very happy with these!

These are thick, very good quality placemats that enhance a table’s place setting. The go really well in particular with round or oval tables. I expect them to ladt a whole. We liked the first purchase such that we ordered more.
Only negative I have is that I went to look for even more of them and now they only sell a lighter brown one and not the darker ones we bought already. And that was only a month ago. I knocked a star off because of this. So if you like the style, buy the full quantity you may want in future.

These are very nice and well made placemats. It almost looks like something you would buy in another country. It looks pretty authentic and does not look cheap. They make for a great gift if the person enjoys this style. The only thing is that I kind of wish the coloring permeated the placemats more. i got them in black and wanted them to look darker because they do look like the photos where it looks more grey than black. I may have to dye them myself if I want them darker but overall, I will be using them and keeping them as is for now. If you are thinking about getting them, they are worth it. They only come in twos though.
