There is nothing wimpy about these placemats! These are sturdy and beautiful placemats and will give you that “natural” feel to your table setting. These could easily be used as trivets if you have hot dishes you need to set on the table.

So 1st off I’d like to just address what so many are talking about or describing Is that there is a smell. This smell is not anything foreign to what this material would give off. It gives off what you might think dried up treated straw would smell like. I have a Very sensitive nose and Allowing these to sit out for a day or overnight really solved the smell, No the smell did not stay in the area these are placed in. I placed them Within 24 hours on my white tablecloth. There is no shedding as of yet. I’m sure as the more I use these they might shed but I hope not. They’re not too thick they’re the perfect width I love these so much I used the two That I don’t need for my Table on my island it works out perfectly the color is perfect And if there is some That are richer in color than others. I honestly can’t even tell I love that they are all uniquely the same and different at the same time. There is no warpping they are all flat due to the shipping care. These are pretty sturdy no bending, I suggest anyone wanting this type of charger to buy them.

As soon as I open the package these had a horrible smell like rotting grass and manure. If you are from a farm you know what I mean. They were so bad that I had keep them out of my house because they’re stench permeated any room they were in. This was disgusting, I’m not sure how this happened but dear God please stop selling this product. You need a new career.

I would say these are pretty good quality. However, do yourself a favor and let them sit outside for a few hours when you open them. They have a certain smell and it have me a headache having the smell inside. It’s faded and gone now but I’d rather have not dealt with that part at all. I will say, they look lovely on the table!
